Bathroom Remodeling

Bathrooms are where shortcuts hide the longest and cost the most. Water that gets behind a shower does not announce itself until the subfloor is gone. The waterproofing layer, the slope of the pan and the way the membrane turns up the wall are the parts of a bathroom nobody ever sees and the only parts that determine whether the room lasts fifteen years or three.

In the older parts of the metro the second issue is what is behind the wall. Houses of that era were plumbed with galvanized supply lines that corrode closed from the inside, and a bathroom remodel is the moment those get replaced while the wall is already open. Doing it later means opening a finished wall again.

Tub to shower conversions are the most requested change we see, partly because a second bathtub in a three bedroom house rarely earns its space, and partly because a curbless or low curb shower is what lets an owner stay in the house longer.
