Warr Acres holds the same era of housing as its neighbours, compact post war homes on established lots with mature trees. The houses are well built for their size and the constraint is almost always the plan rather than the structure: a kitchen that is closed in, one bathroom serving three bedrooms, and storage designed for how much less people owned.

Those constraints have good answers. A second bathroom carved out of an oversized bedroom or a hallway, a kitchen opened to the dining room, and built in storage that uses wall depth the original plan wasted. Mature trees also mean root systems near driveways and patios, which matters before any concrete is poured.
