Mustang has expanded outward onto larger lots, and larger lots change what people want built. Exterior work makes up much more of the mix here than it does inside the city: covered patios, shop slabs, driveways long enough to matter and outdoor space that is usable through an Oklahoma summer.

Larger lots also mean more exposure. There is less shelter from wind and less shade than an established inner metro street offers, so orientation and cover are the first questions on any outdoor project rather than an afterthought once the framing is up.
