Midwest City was built quickly and deliberately to house workers at the air base, which gives it a housing stock that is unusually uniform in age and plan. Those houses were built to a sensible standard and they have held up, but they were built to a footprint, and the most common project here is adding the space the original plan never had.

Turnover is steadier here than in much of the metro, so a share of the work is getting a house ready to sell or making one liveable straight after a purchase. Both reward being honest about which repairs actually return their cost and which are preference.
